James "Greg" Pittman is a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. Greg received a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Indiana University in 1992, and in 1995, received his law degree from the University of Louisville, where he was a member of the University of Louisville Family Law Journal. Greg and his family live in Bedford and are deeply involved in the Lawrence County Community.
Greg has served as the attorney for the City of Bedford (18 years), the Town of Oolitic
(22 years), North Lawrence Community Schools (14 years), Bedford Federal Savings Bank and Mitchell Community Schools.
Greg has practiced law in Lawrence County for over twenty-six years. Greg handles adoption, business and contract law, civil law, estates and estate planning, guardianship, personal injury, real estate, and various other civil matters.

Michelle L. Woodward was born and raised in Lawrence County and is a Bedford
North Lawrence High School graduate. She graduated from Indiana University –
Bloomington in 1993 and from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1996.
Michelle and her husband have three children.
After law school, Michelle returned to Lawrence County to practice law in the
law firm of Haury & Woodward from 1996 – 2005. In December 2005, she went to work
as a deputy prosecutor, and then, in 2006, she was elected as the Lawrence County
Prosecuting Attorney, and held that position for twelve years. From 2014-2018, Michelle
was an Indiana Prosecuting Attorney Association Board Member. In 2019, she
joined Pittman Law Firm. In 2023, Pittman Law Firm became Pittman | Woodward.
In 2002, Michelle received the State of Indiana, District 10, Pro Bono Service
Award. In 2005, she was honored to receive the Lawrence County “Walk with
Excellence” Government Award. In 2007, she was selected as a member of the
Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series, through which she received
specialized training in public service. From 2007 – 2015, Michelle served on the Board of
Directors for the Limestone Girls Club and then the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence
County, and in 2015, she received the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County Board of
Directors Appreciation Award.
Michelle has over twenty-five years of experience as a practicing attorney. She handles criminal defense, adoption, divorce, paternity and CHINS cases, as well as estates and estate planning.
